How to level it

Skinning skill rises as you skin. Higher-level beasts need more skill, so skin what you kill as you level and keep your skill near the top of what your zone allows. Wowhead’s Forever data has no Skinning recipe or node list, so there is no route to compute.

Recipes

Every recipe up to skill 300, grouped by the skill you learn it at. Skill-ups shows where it is orange (learned; a point every craft), yellow, green and grey (no more points). The materials’ cost is our launch-day estimate. What it does comes from the client: our item sweep’s tooltip lines and the spell text of each item’s Use or Equip effect.

Where this comes from

  • Source tier A: A Recipes, materials, what they make, rarity, the yellow/grey skill-up points, starter recipes, tools, cooldowns, reputation requirements and each item’s Use or Equip text: the game client’s own tables (build 1.60.1.70532); tooltip lines: our client item sweep of 27 September; camp objects: KB 400.40.1.
  • Source tier B: B Learn skill, orange/green points, where a recipe comes from, vendors, training costs, trainers and gathering nodes: Wowhead’s Forever dataset, read 24 October (its recipe lists and materials match the client’s, apart from the camp objects of Skinning and Cooking’s Basic Campfire). Reputation requirements and the side of a vendor’s zone are the client’s (A).
  • Source tier D: D The levelling route and every price: ours (launch-day estimate, then the beta Market), with Classic’s skill-up chance rule, which Forever has not been shown to change. The beta closed on 23 October; launch is 4 November.
